Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

• "Service" means the Haoxie application, website and related services.
• "User Content" means vocabulary lists, worksheets, folders and other content created by users.
• "Default Templates" means templates and educational materials provided by Haoxie.
• "Guest Mode" means use of the Service without a registered account.
• "Premium Membership" means any paid subscription or one-time purchase that unlocks Premium features.

1. Welcome to Haoxie

Welcome to Haoxie.

Haoxie is an iPad-first educational application designed to help learners practice Chinese handwriting through structured writing exercises, stroke order guidance, interactive feedback, and customizable writing worksheets.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Haoxie application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, installing, creating an account, or using Haoxie, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not access or use the Service in any manner.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum legal age required in your country, to use the Service.

If you are under the applicable age of digital consent, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. User Accounts

Certain features of Haoxie require a registered account.

You may register using one of the authentication methods supported by Haoxie, including:

• •Google Sign-In
• •Apple Sign-In (if available)

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when creating your account.

You must notify Haoxie promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

4. Guest Mode

Haoxie allows certain features to be used without creating an account through Guest Mode.

Guest users may create and save worksheets on the local device, subject to the limitations of the applicable free membership plan.

Guest data is stored locally on the device and is not synchronized across devices.

Premium memberships and certain account-based features require users to create or sign in to a registered account.

If a Guest user removes the application, resets the device, or otherwise loses locally stored data before creating an account, Haoxie may be unable to recover that data.

5. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

You agree not to:

• •share your password with others;
• •allow another person to access your account;
• •impersonate another individual; or
• •use another person's account without authorization.

Haoxie is not responsible for any loss arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

6. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Haoxie account at any time through the application (when available) or by contacting our support team.

After receiving your deletion request, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable period after your deletion request, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve legal disputes, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud, or comply with regulatory obligations.

Deleting your account does not automatically entitle you to any refund for purchases or subscriptions.

7. Membership Plans

Haoxie offers both free and paid membership plans. Paid Memberships include subscription-based and one-time purchase plans offered by Haoxie.

The features and limitations available under each plan are described within the Service and may be updated from time to time.

Paid memberships unlock additional features that are not available under the Free plan. Unless otherwise stated, Premium features remain available only while an active subscription or eligible purchase is associated with your account.

We may introduce new features, modify existing features, or discontinue features as the Service evolves. Material changes will not affect rights already granted under applicable law. Such changes do not automatically entitle users to refunds or compensation unless required by applicable law.

8. Purchases and Billing

All purchases made within the Haoxie iOS application are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

By purchasing a paid membership, you agree to Apple's applicable payment terms and conditions.

Haoxie does not collect, process, or store your payment card information.

Prices, currencies, taxes, and payment methods are determined by Apple and may vary by country or region.

9. Monthly Subscription

Monthly subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through your Apple ID account before the end of the current billing period.

Subscription management, renewal, cancellation, and billing are handled by Apple.

If you cancel your subscription, Premium features remain available until the end of the current billing period. After the subscription expires, your account will automatically revert to the Free plan.

Your worksheets, templates, and other personal content will remain available unless otherwise specified within the Service. However, Premium-only features and content will no longer be accessible unless you renew your subscription or purchase another eligible membership.

10. Lifetime Membership

Haoxie may offer a Lifetime membership as a one-time purchase.

For the purposes of these Terms, "Lifetime" refers to the commercial lifetime of the Haoxie Service and does not mean the lifetime of any individual user.

Lifetime membership grants access to the Premium features included in that plan for as long as the Haoxie Service remains commercially available.

If Haoxie permanently discontinues the Service, your Lifetime membership will end when the Service is no longer available. Except where required by applicable law, Haoxie is not obligated to provide compensation or refunds in such circumstances.

11. Refunds

All purchases made through Apple's In-App Purchase system are subject to Apple's refund policies.

Haoxie does not independently issue refunds for purchases processed by Apple.

If you believe you are entitled to a refund, you should submit your request directly to Apple using the refund process provided by Apple.

12. User Content

Haoxie allows users to create and organize their own learning materials, including vocabulary lists, writing practice worksheets, folders, and other user-generated content ("User Content").

You retain ownership of the User Content that you create.

You represent and warrant that you own, or have all necessary rights, licenses, permissions, and authority to create, upload, or submit any User Content through the Service. You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights of any third party.

By using the Service, you grant Haoxie a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, synchronize, display, reproduce where technically necessary, and otherwise use your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, protecting, improving, and providing the Service.

Haoxie does not claim ownership of your User Content.

Except as described in these Terms or required by applicable law, Haoxie will not use your User Content for any other purpose without your permission.

13. User Feedback

We welcome your suggestions, ideas, comments, and other feedback regarding the Service ("Feedback").

If you voluntarily provide Feedback to Haoxie, you agree that we may use, modify, implement, publish, or otherwise incorporate such Feedback into the Service without restriction and without any obligation to compensate you.

Providing Feedback does not transfer ownership of the Service or create any partnership, joint venture, or other legal relationship between you and Haoxie.

14. Default Templates

Haoxie provides a collection of default templates, vocabulary sets, handwriting worksheets, educational layouts, and other learning materials ("Default Templates") for personal learning within the Service.

Users may generate worksheets from these Default Templates while using the Service.

Default Templates remain the intellectual property of Haoxie.

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, publish, sublicense, sell, or commercially exploit any Default Template outside the Service without Haoxie's prior written permission.

15. Educational Content

Haoxie provides educational materials such as stroke order demonstrations, character structure guidance, pronunciations, meanings, vocabulary templates, and other learning resources for educational purposes only.

Educational Content is not professional language certification advice.

While we strive to keep our educational content accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that all content is complete, accurate, or suitable for every learning objective.

Users remain responsible for verifying information where accuracy is important to their individual learning needs.

16. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content owned by users, all intellectual property rights in the Service are owned by Haoxie or its licensors.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• •the Haoxie name and logo;
• •the application and website;
• •software and source code;
• •user interface design;
• •icons, illustrations, and graphics;
• •themes and visual assets;
• •worksheet generation technology;
• •Default Templates;
• •educational content; and
• •all related documentation.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Haoxie's intellectual property to you.

17. License to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, Haoxie grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

This license allows you to use the Service only as intended by Haoxie and does not transfer ownership of the Service or any intellectual property rights to you.

18. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service lawfully, responsibly, and in accordance with these Terms.

You must not:

• •violate any applicable law or regulation while using the Service;
• •attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• •interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the security, integrity, or availability of the Service;
• •reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, attempt to bypass membership limitations, or attempt to discover the source code of the Service except where permitted by applicable law;
• •remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices contained in the Service;
• •reproduce, redistribute, sell, sublicense, lease, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service, Default Templates, educational content, or other proprietary materials owned by Haoxie without prior written permission;
• •use the Service in a manner that infringes the intellectual property or other rights of any person or organization;
• •upload, create, or distribute content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harmful, or infringes the intellectual property rights of others.

You remain solely responsible for ensuring that any content you create or submit through the Service does not violate the rights of any third party.

19. Service Availability

Haoxie continually improves the Service and may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

From time to time, the Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, security measures, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We will use reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and reliability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

20. Suspension and Termination

Haoxie may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe that you:

• •materially violate these Terms;
• •engage in fraudulent, illegal, or abusive activities;
• •attempt to compromise the security or operation of the Service; or
• •repeatedly infringe the intellectual property or other legal rights of Haoxie or third parties.

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before suspending or terminating your account. However, immediate suspension or termination may occur where necessary to protect the Service, comply with applicable law, or prevent harm.

Termination of your account does not affect any rights or obligations that arose before the termination.

21. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Haoxie makes no warranties or representations, whether express or implied, regarding the availability, reliability, accuracy, completeness, or fitness of the Service for any particular purpose.

While we strive to provide accurate educational materials and a reliable learning experience, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from defects.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

22. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Haoxie and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

This includes, without limitation, loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or other commercial damages, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

23. Changes to the Service and These Terms

Haoxie may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time to reflect improvements, new features, legal requirements, or changes to our business.

When material changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide additional notice through the Service where appropriate.

Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.

24. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Haoxie is established, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
